"Asian Ceramics throughout the Ages:
From Tang to early Modern
"

As one of the oldest art, ceramics have been used widely and treasured overtime. In a country as old as China, ceramics have been part of the culture and tradition for many centuries, arguably since 9000 BC. Chinese ceramics are one of the antiques that have been searched for and collected not only because of their history, but also for their artistic beauty.
The same reasons have made Rodolfo Giusti (Rudy) fall in love with ceramics. Rudy started to collect ceramics thirty years ago. At the beginning he followed his heart, buying any ceramic piece he thought was beautiful. On his trip to different cities in Indonesia, he took time to look for ceramics. Starting from classic ginger jars, Rudy's collection has varied greatly during the years. As his collection grew, he learned more and more about ceramics both from books, magazines and lectures at the Indonesian, Malaysian, and Singapore Ceramics Associations. |

"The more you learn, the more you enjoy." Rudy conveyed. He also goes to the neighboring countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Hong Kong to find antique ceramics while visiting his offices. He became progressively more selective in adding up his collection, and now would only go for really unique and precious pieces.

"I have some high-value ceramics from various Chinese Dynasties, some of them are imperial pieces which were made for the Emperor and his court or as a present to a King or other dignitaries." Now that he has accumulated an enormous collection of over 4000 antique ceramics, Rudy wants to share it with ceramics enthusiasts in Bali. "I love them all so much but it's time to sell redundant pieces." he said.
Wandering through his office at Lotus Enterprises are rows of giant Chinese jars and pots. On the walls are various sizes of ceramic plates coming from Asian countries, mostly China. The same is also found in his Sanur home where all sizes of ceramics from large jars to small powder boxes, fill up every nook and cranny of the rooms.
All his hotels, restaurants and offices in Asia are decorated with antiques and ceramics. He even made a Mini Museum of Asian Ceramics in his Lotus Pond Restaurant in Sanur.

In his exhibition at Jenggala, Rudy presents a tiny part of his collection. They range from as early as Tang dynasty to the more recent years of People's Republic of China (PRC). Many pieces are originals from the 14th to the 19th century, and some of them are very high quality reproductions still from the 1940s.
Although Chinese blue and white wares are pretty much dominant, there are also several Annamese (Vietnam) pieces and some medicine bottles and boxes from Thailand (both from 14th and 15th century) plus a few pieces from Japan. All pieces, if not for a keen purchase are sure to entice our appreciation to the history of ceramics.
All acquired pieces will have a full Money Back Guarantee to ensure their authenticity.
Jenggala proudly presents "ASIAN CERAMICS THROUGHOUT THE AGES".
